What to know
  • QIV only in 2025 (4 strains).
  • Funding: NIP for all children 6 months to <5 years, plus First Nations, pregnancy, and eligible medical conditions. Others are private (5–64).
  • Dosing first year 6m–<9y: 2 doses ≥4 weeks apart; then 1 dose annually.
  • Co‑admin: With COVID‑19; in pregnancy may be co‑given with pertussis (20–32 wks) and maternal RSV (28–36 wks).
  • Egg allergy: Not a contraindication. Latex: NIP 2025 flu vaccines are latex‑free.

  • Pregnant women — any stage, every pregnancy.
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged ≥6 months.
  • People aged ≥65 years (adjuvanted QIV recommended).
  • People aged ≥6 months with certain medical conditions (e.g., chronic cardiac, respiratory incl. severe asthma, immunocompromise, haematological, metabolic incl. diabetes, chronic kidney, neurological conditions; long‑term aspirin in children 5–10).

Start when vaccine is available (Mar/Apr 2025) and continue while influenza circulates.
